Hi Folks
After 2 very well attended concerts I'm afraid that we have quite a few places left for next weeks concert which features the truly excellent Ian Bruce.
When we proposed restarting concerts the people that run the Black Horse gave us permission to hold 3 concerts. After which they would then review the situation. If we want their permission to continue then we need to boost the numbers for next weeks concert.
So if you want a great nights entertainment and are in a position to support then please get in touch and book your place.

Ian is universally acknowledged as one of Scotland's finest singer/songwriters. His list of credits include such wonderful songs as 'Too Far From She', 'Free Agent', 'The Touch & The Go', 'Find Out Who You're Friends Are', 'Blodwen's Dream' and 'Blue Denim Days'. Every song has a story and on his last visit to Nettleham Ian entertained and amused us with the tales that inspired his compositions. An incredible vocalist, in recent years he has also become recognised as a great interpreter of traditional Scottish songs, particularly the work of Robert Burns. I'm delighted to be able to welcome Ian back to the Black Horse.

Lincoln Folk Club
The long established, much travelled Lincoln Folk Club has now moved to Nettleham. Does this now make us the folk capital of Lincolnshire ?
I went to their first regular meeting on Friday 16th. September at their new home at the Beckside Room, The White Hart, Nettleham (see below). They will be holding their future meetings there on alternate Fridays which of course means you can go this week, Friday 23rd. September.
In the main the club operates for the benefit of floor singers/performers so if you feel you could contribute to the evenings entertainment you will be given your chance. The night I attended had a very nice mix of performers and styles and the standard was high.

Also it was good to see Sue and Keith from the Gainsborough Folk Club over to lend support to the new venue. The Gainsborough Folk Festival is on 21st. to 23rd. October with Julie Felix and Bob Fox ( both of which have done fine concerts at the Black Horse) headlining. For more details and full line up please check their web site.
